The EU likes to talk pompously about political transparency in public, but behind the scenes it is doing the exact opposite. Normally, after a new election of the EU Parliament, hearings of the future EU Commissioners take place in the respective committees, where MEPs can ask them questions.
Not, however, in the Health Committee (SANT). Here, of all places, the relevant members cannot put questions directly to the designated EU Commissioners (Olivรฉr Vรกrhelyi & Hadja Lahbib). Instead, the secretariat collects questions and suggestions for topics in advance, which the committee chair will then present. ( Shame be upon him who thinks evil upon it! ๐ )
As everyone knows how things work here in this madhouse and how much the Brussels elites try to protect themselves from any criticism, I naturally do not expect a single one of my questions (and those of my group) to make it through the pre-selection process.
For this reason, I would like to make the questions asked public at this point:
โญ๏ธ Dear Commissioners-designate Vรกrhelyi and Lahbib,
[...] In this context, we would appreciate your views on the following critical issues:
๐บ Regarding transparency:
๐ How will you ensure full disclosure of communications between the Commission and pharmaceutical companies? Specifically, what is your position on the still unclear communications between Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla?
๐บ Concerning liability and responsibility:
๐ What specific measures do you envision to establish proper compensation mechanisms and corporate liability for vaccination side effects?
๐บ On crisis management and democratic control:
๐ How will you ensure the proportionality of restrictions on fundamental rights in future health crises?
๐ What concrete steps will you take to address the influence of pharmaceutical companies on decision-making processes?
๐บ Regarding the investigation of COVID-19 measures:
๐ How do you plan to address the censorship that occurred against critical voices on social media?
๐ What is your position on the recognition and recording of post-vac syndrome and other vaccination side effects?
๐ How will you review the role of beneficiaries of corona measures (masks, test centers, vaccine manufacturers) with regard to government funding?
๐ What steps will you take to evaluate the effectiveness of the vaccines compared to their original promises regarding virus transmission?
๐ How do you intend to examine the proportionality of the measures taken and their impact on fundamental rights?
๐ What mechanisms do you envision for compensating people who have been harmed by coronavirus measures or vaccination side effects? โฎ๏ธ

Perhaps this publication generates enough pressure for some of these issues to make it through the Brussels firewall after all. It remains exciting and I will of course keep you - dear readers - up to date.
