Dear fellow citizens,

without giving any big notice, EU Parliament President David Sassoli has restricted the access to the EU Parliament a few days ago. Without the "European Digital COVID Certificate" (EDCC), from now on, Members of EU-Parliament (MEPs) and all staff members will be denied access to the Parliament, including the offices.

This is an unprecedented attempt for Western democracies to discriminate and harass elected representatives.

Regardless of whether you have a yellow WHO vaccination certificate or a national PCR test, anyone without the "European Digital COVID Certificate" (EDCC) is turned away at the entrance. There is a special test center in front of the parliament building, but it takes 24 hours to get the result from there. During the waiting time, we are thus forbidden to do our work in the parliament. This state of affairs is intolerable and deeply contemptuous of democracy, especially since a valid test becomes invalid again after another 24 hours.
